Magnesium sulfate is widely used in agriculture and gardening for rectifying magnesium deficiency in soil. It is most commonly applied to potted plants, or to magnesium-hungry crops, such as potatoes, roses, tomatoes, and peppers. Being highly soluble it is better than other magnesium soil amendments. Anhydrous magnesium sulfate is also used as a desiccant.
